INSTRUCTIONS & INFO
What causes a 782 error?
If you see error code 782, your DIRECTV receiver is having trouble communicating with your satellite dish. A diagnostic system scan confirms that your receiver has power and is connected to other DIRECTV equipment in your home. Typically, this scenario requires an appointment with a technician to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Troubleshooting tips
Did you recently relocate your receiver to a different location in your home? If so, this can result in a 782 error. To clear the error, move the receiver back to its original location and turn it on. If you’d prefer to keep the receiver in its new location, you may choose to schedule a relocation appointment for a technician to properly set it up. Depending on your equipment configuration, a service fee may apply.
If you did not move the receiver to a different location:
- Check for tight and secure cabling connections and make sure the cords are damage-free.
- Restart your receiver by pressing the red reset button on that device.
