Connect the satellite cable to your receiver

Connect your DIRECTV satellite cable to a receiver
  1. Find the loose end of the RG6 coaxial cable that is attached to a wall plate near your receiver. It may be a single cable with 1 coaxial end or a twin cable with 2 coaxial ends.
  2. On the back of your receiver, look for 1 or 2 ports labeled Satellite In or SAT-In. Plug the ends of the RG6 coaxial cable into the Satellite In (SAT-In) ports on the back of your receiver. If you have 2 Satellite In ports and only 1 cable, use the Satellite In 1 port.
  3. If DIRECTV previously installed any adapters, plug them into the back of your receiver.
  4. If you have a DIRECTV DVR kit, reattach its cables. Then follow the on-screen setup.

Connect your DIRECTV satellite cable to a Genie® Mini
  1. Locate the RG6 coaxial cable that is attached to a wall plate near your Genie Mini.
  2. Plug the loose end of the cable into the Network (SWiM Only) port on the back of your Genie Mini.
