  • HR54 cannot detect swm
Had a lightning strike hit the power pole outside and it took out some electronics. Had an HR 54 receiver that no longer turned on, no display, no power button on, no nothing. DIRECTV sent me a new HR 54 receiver and I swapped it out and I get the display but an error of cannot detect swm. I checked the cable I’ve got 20.3 V DC up at the LNB so I figure it’s probably not the cable. Figured lightning charge may have took out the LNB also so I swapped it out with a new LNB. Still same problem. I’m at a loss now… Same model receiver just new, new LNB and a good cable and I get this problem, makes no sense! There is nothing else to check… It’s a slimline dish and the old LNB was SL3-SWM. New LNB is Reverse Band 3 Satellite LNB (3D2RBLNB). There has never been a power inserter or any splitters cause there’s only one TV and one receiver. The only thing that I could think of now is that the new receiver they sent me is no good??? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Guide fails to retain info for HD channels
Receiver type HR23/700 running software 0xd49 (Tue 4/20), no phone line connected, internet connected via hardwire from router 1) The receiver will populate all the "schedule list" aka Guide, after a red-button reset or power cycle. Within an hour or so all of the HD channels have dropped the info with "to be announced" showing in the channel fields. The SD channels still have proper guide info extended out a week or so as normal. This just started happening about a week ago (~12/23/21). The HD channels themselves work properly, I can select and watch just fine. 2) The receiver has auto-refreshed several times to download software since 4/20 so not sure why it shows an 8 month old version. 3) The receiver shows successful internet connection with result 88-443. On the website side, managing equipment shows it is "offline". 4) Sending a refresh signal from the website appears to have no effect. Should this "push" through the satellite connection?

  • Need a Programmable Remote
The DirecTV remote is failing to provide commands to operate certain functions of different equipment - like powering on a Vizio sound bar.  Will power it off, but not power it on.  I am trying to find a programmable remote that will work with the DirecTV streaming device.  Or one that will be able to "learn" from the IR commands.  Tried several new ones - but can't find the manufacturer and or model number of the AT&T device; or when I try to enter the device into the remote - there are too many Direct TV or DirectTV or whatever to choose from. Can anyone provide assistance? Thank you.

  • Dish SwiM Problem
I recently posted a problem with 103 even transponders, and it was recommended I replace the SWM 8. I purchased a DTV AHKAKUKIT (I live in Hawaii) so I could replace both the lnb and SWM. I ran the coax from the new lnb directly to the old power inserter which was probably a big mistake. I had no signal and after a few minutes I realized the power inserter said SWM 8/16 only.  I moved the cable directly to my receiver, an HR20-700, and I still have zero signal on all satellites. Using my Satlook meter, I foundn a decent signal on 101W from the dish all the way to the receiver, but the receiver doesn't see anything. When In push the dash on the remote, it says SWiM connected.Am I missing something? Thanks for the help.
