Make a promise to pay
Think you can’t pay by your due date? Learn how to schedule a promise to pay to avoid service interruption.
Make a Promise to Pay
Can’t make a payment by the due date or missed a payment? Some DIRECTV Satellite customers can make a “Promise to Pay” to arrange a late payment. Eligible customers will see a “Can’t pay now? Pay Later” option when their account is past due. If you don’t see this option in your account, you can chat with an agent now for help.
- Sign in to your directv.com account.
- Select Can’t pay now? Pay later in the My Account or Bill & Payments section.
- In the Promise to Pay window, fill in your expected payment date, payment amount, and payment method.
- Select Submit.
Heads up: Late fees may still apply to your account.
Request a service interruption extension
If you’ve been scheduled for service interruption, you could be eligible for a one-time service interruption extension of up to five days. Doing so will temporarily stop call attempts. This may take approximately 24 hours to take effect.
- Sign in to your directv.com account.
- Select Can’t pay now? Pay later in the My Account section. If the Request a Service Interruption Extension window displays, you’re eligible for a service extension.
- Select your expected payment date and Submit.
Heads Up: By requesting a service interruption extension, you’re informing us of payment you’ll be making in the future and not scheduling an actual payment. If you see a Promise to Pay window, you’re NOT eligible for a service interruption extension. Your service will be interrupted on the scheduled date unless we receive your payment by then.
Potential fees
- Late fees apply if you pay your bill after the due date.
- We charge a convenience fee if you call or chat with us to make or schedule a payment arrangement.
- You'll owe a reconnection fee if you don’t pay by the date you agreed to and your service is suspended.
