How to reset your Gemini Air yourself—and what to do if it’s reset remotely by DIRECTV
Factory resetting your Gemini Air is a way to fix many issues with your device. You can do it yourself, or it might be done remotely by DIRECTV to fix problems or because of certain issues with software updates.
If your Gemini Air has been remotely reset due to an issue:
- You’ll see a notice on your TV screen prompting you to pair your remote again.
- Point the remote at your TV and press fast forward (>>) and rewind (<<) at the same time.
- If that fails, press and hold the APPS and DASH (-) buttons
- The LED lights on the remote will flash twice and you’ll see a confirmation on your TV screen.
- Repeat if necessary
To factory reset your Gemini Air yourself:
- Press and hold the reset button on the device for about 30 seconds, or
- Using the remote, press Home > Settings > System > Restart/Reset > Factory Reset.
- After restarting, wait for your device to reboot.
- Repeat if necessary.
Heads up!
A factory reset will remove certain settings like live sports scores, and you may need to log into your account again. However, your DVR recordings, favorites, and bookmarks will all be retained.
Remote LED Status:
Off = No power
Solid red = Insufficient power
White = ON and connected with strong signal
Yellow = On and connected with weak signal
Flashing red = No router or internet connection, searching for connection
Red and blue transition during boot process = red indicates powering up and doing power verification, blue indicates passing power check and continue to boot
After system is fully booted up, White, Yellow, or Flashing Red will indicate Wi-Fi connection state.
