Yes, you can easily link your existing Netflix account—no need to cancel it first!

After signing up for Netflix through DIRECTV, follow the steps in your activation email. This will link your existing Netflix account to DIRECTV.

Note: If you previously paid through Apple and have linked your account to a package or add-on, you must also cancel your subscription through Apple. If you do not, you may continue to be charged by Apple.


No, you must complete the activation process detailed above to link a Netflix account to your package. If you don’t, you’ll continue to be charged separately for your Netflix account until you complete activation.

If you don’t know the email address you used to sign up for Netflix or believe you may have mistyped it, check to see if you are signed into Netflix on the device you used to sign up. If you accidentally connect the wrong account to your package, please contact Netflix customer service and provide the email address for the Netflix account that is incorrectly linked.


Check to see if you’re still signed in on the device you used to link an account, as you may be able to access your account details.

If you’re not still signed in, sign in to your DIRECTV account and select Account Overview > Manage my TV Package. Scroll down to Add-ons and offers, find Netflix, and select Account Management > Go to Netflix to be redirected to a Netflix sign-in page with your email address pre-populated. From here you can sign in to your Netflix account and update your email address as needed.


Netflix is available on many internet-connected devices, such as set-top boxes, smart TVs, computers, gaming consoles, smartphones, and tablets. You can watch Netflix on as many different compatible devices as you want.

Once your account is activated through DIRECTV, you can launch Netflix in three ways:

  1. On the Netflix App (available at all app stores)
  2. At Netflix.com
  3. By clicking the “Watch Now” link on the Netflix card on your Manage My TV Package page at DIRECTV (this will take you to Netflix.com)

Since your DIRECTV add-on is a Netflix Premium membership, plan changes are unavailable.


The monthly charges for Netflix will be added to your regular DIRECTV bill.

If Netflix doesn't have content available to stream, it can be for a variety of reasons, such as that the streaming rights may not be available to purchase or may be held exclusively by another company.


It’s easy to cancel Netflix at any time. Simply go to the Netflix card on your Manage My TV Package page and select “REMOVE.” Since you pay in advance, you’ll be able to watch Netflix until the end of your billing cycle.


If you cancel DIRECTV service, your Netflix account will be cancelled at the end of your prepaid period. Since you pay in advance, you’ll be able to watch Netflix until the end of your billing cycle.

If you pause your DIRECTV service, your Netflix account will be temporarily canceled during your pause. Since you pay in advance, you’ll be able to watch Netflix until the end of your billing cycle. Once your pause is over, your Netflix account will be restarted and your billings will resume. IMPORTANT: After your pause is over, you’ll receive an email from DIRECTV with a link to reactivate your Netflix account. If you don’t reactivate, you’ll continue to be billed but won’t be able to watch Netflix.

If your DIRECTV service is involuntarily suspended due to a payment failure, your Netflix account will be temporarily suspended. Once your payment failure is resolved, your Netflix account will be automatically restarted and your billings will resume.
