Why does my account require a 24-month contract?
All new DIRECTV delivered via internet customers are given a 24-month contract. Your contract includes one DIRECTV-provided device and 24 months of price protection.
Can I make changes to my account during my 24-month contract?
You can upgrade or downgrade your TV package and add or subtract extras like premium channels at any time during your contract. Most changes take effect immediately and any billing changes will be reflected on your next bill.
What if I cancel my account before my 24-month contract ends?
- You’ll be subject to an early termination fee (ETF) of $20 per month on the remaining months on your contract.
- Depending on how long you’ve had service, you may need to return your DIRECTV device(s) to avoid a non-return fee. Instructions for return will be provided when you cancel.
- If you cancel in the middle of a billing cycle, you’ll be able to watch until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, you won’t have access to DIRECTV content. Your account will not be prorated.
What happens when my contract ends?
After your 24-month contract ends, your account will continue on a month-to-month basis, and your method of payment will be charged at the then-current monthly rate for whatever services you have.
Can I lease my DIRECTV equipment under the 24-month contract?
Yes, you can. For now, you can lease the Gemini Air device. You can order up to 6 devices at a given time. At sign up, you would get 1 included device at $0 charge per month and you can lease up to another 5 devices at an additional cost. You may lease more devices in a future transaction.
