Receiver not connected to internet or landline

To order movies and events with your remote control, your receiver must be connected to the internet or a landline phone. If your receiver isn't connecting, see below to fix. You can order a movie or event online at directv.com/moviesLearn more about On Demand and Pay Per View.

Receiver connected to a landline phone

If your receiver connected to a landline phone, try these steps.

  1. Refresh your receiver. Many issues can be easily fixed by refreshing your service.
  2. Check that your phone cable is connected to the phone port, not the Ethernet port.
  3. Unplug the phone cable from the phone jack and plug it back in. Make sure each end securely snaps in place. If you're using accessories that could have a defect (such as phone line splitters), remove them and plug the phone line directly into the phone jack.
  4. Test the phone jack by temporarily disconnecting your receiver's line and plugging in a regular phone. If you don't hear a dial tone, the problem is with your wall jack.
  5. If your phone jack is working, call us at 800.531.5000 to request a signal call back to the satellite.

Your receiver connects to the internet and you don't have Whole-Home DVR service
