  • Help with Konka codes!
I have a new Konka TV 43U55A, I have seen that with the old style remotes this TV was listed but now it only brings up one code and it does not work! What happens when you have a TV that is new to the market (this brand isn't new, but is just now becoming more recognized) and there isn't a code for the TV? I work in a Nursing home, so I need to have 1 remote easy use!  I also just bough 22 of these!! Don't tell em to go to your lookup, because the brand is there, but none of the models are even listed.  If I search with the model number I put in, it gives me only 1 code and that code gives me a red light on the remote, as does EVERY other code I have seen related to the model. I have used both RC72H and RC73 remotes!

  • Received a call from "DirecTV" saying we had to upgrade our receivers
I've been a DirecTV customer for almost 10 years and upgraded my receivers several times as new features/capabilities became available (SD->HD->4k).  I received a call today from someone claiming to be with DirecTV that AT&T would be "shutting down the old receivers and that I had to upgrade."  Since I just upgraded my receivers and DVR to a Genie2 about a year ago - I was highly suspicious.  He told me to go to the System info and read the "first line" which was the model number.  I read it to him (HS17), but he seemed to have trouble understanding (he said "HS172" or "H70", etc. and seemed to be happy with those model#s until I corrected him - AT&T doesn't have that many different models, AFAIK).  Then he asked for the "second line" which was the receiver ID.  I stopped there and refused to provide it.  I said, if you are really from AT&T, you should already have that information.  After some brief discussion, I ended hanging up on him.   In any event, I'm 99% certain that this was some sort of upgrade scam, but thought I'd post it here to get some additional input.

  • What is the differences or advantages of HR 44 and HR 54 genie models
Currently runniing HR44 genie HDMI connection with a Samsung UN55JU670DFXZA and HR24 with a Panasonic TV, DVD and Roku setup.  I am due for a Free 2 year equipment upgrade. What would be advantage or disadvantage of asking to upgrade from HR44 genie to HR54? I have decided not to upgrade to the Genie-2 and lose the advantages of separate DVR's for different TVs.

  • Do I need DECA Band filters with 2 D12 receivers and SWM dish?
We currently only have two receivers which are both standard definition D12 Models. The dish itself is relatively new AT&T and is SWM with a power inserter. and green labeled splitter. I am looking to run DECA over this same coax line for some other devices placed by the TV. I am aware this is possible but am unsure whether the band filters are necessary since there is no genie anywhere on the network. And if these filters are necessary where do I place them? One between the output of each splitter and the D12 box? Current Configuration: Proposed:
