    How do you determine if a call is from ATT?  I recently got a call from 870-288-2020 about an installation.  This whole process started about 2 weeks ago, first in my wife getting a call stating that ATT was wanting to update our direct tv system, later I got a call and was told that ATT/Direct TV was going to update my equipment, would contract with Hudges.net to get me better internet (i currently have DSL with ATT, it is terrible). After a long speil about how all these improvements would be happening at no cost, and that in fact I would get discounts, I was asked several questions to verify my account, one being what was my social security number.  I immediately sent this info to ATT (this past Friday) and have yet to get any information directly from you.  Is this a scam?

    How do I report a bad technician? Well he is a sub contractor. First he showed up over an hour late. The appointment was from 12 to 4 and he showed up at almost 6. Then the install required an under eves mount which he didn't have even though the work order stated the type of install and what was required. We were told he would be back with the mount just to receive an email stating the install had been completed. The next morning I called to find out what happened and was told the tech would be back out between 8 and 12. (I work nights so this didn't work for me.) But after spending 45 mins on the phone with 3 different people and most of it on hold. I stayed up waiting for the tech who never showed. My husband called when he go off work and they told him the tech would be out Friday between 4 and 6 the tech showed up at 7:15. It got worse from there. He tried to install it on the front of the house even though the dish would have had to point to the back of the house to be south facing and there where trees in the way. Plus my landlord didn't want it on the front of the house. After arguing with him for almost 5 min. my husband came out and told him he wanted it in the side of the house and just like that the tech did it. So finally the dish is up but when he ran the wires he did not ground the system stating "it shows you have the protection plan so it's okay". He removed the old wires and left them all over my yard and took the plug out to run his wires though and didn't put if back. so now there is a hole in my living room wall to the outside elements.

  • Is this a bad time to buy DirecTV because you appear too busy to do new installations?
    On March 27th I ordered Directv. They said they would send an installer out today between 9 and 11am. They were apparently very concerned I was not going to be there when they came because they sent me three texts on Monday the 30th, Thursday, and Friday asking me to confirm I would be there between 9 and 11am. I confirmed all three times. The installer, "Barney", called me, possibly from a location an hour away at 10:15 am on Saturday. I did not hear the ring but he followed up with a text asking me to call him. I texted him back and asked him to call me. He never replied. I sent him four texts starting at 10:38 which was still within my window and he never replied by phone or text.So my brother and I woke up early on our day off and drove almost and hour to this home where we wanted the install and not only did he not show up he would not even return my texts or phone calls. It would make more sense if when we purchased the installation package for you to give us, the customer, the phone number of installer so we can text him three times in the days before the install and ask him or her to confirm they will be out during the time frame they have promised.It is clear what is happening and the consumer should be warned. Due to Covid, your demand for this in home service probably spiked. Instead of doing the smart thing and telling people to call back in six months when you can provide a reasonable level of service you are making the sale and ignoring the customers who need and installation of have another problem.One other thing proves this point. I spoke with someone in customer service and she said she could arrange "expedited" installation for April 13. So I originally waited 8 days for an installation time which you blew off and now I get an expedited time 9 days from now.Not going to happen. I think there is a way to get this done sooner.PS. You can remove this from this forum but this public service message is going everywhere.

    Look, I signed up TWICE and I was told not once but FIVE TIMES that I would get TWO CARDS with $300 Rewards! I want my rewards. I have TWO houses. Two Separate houses, two separate addresses, two separate bills, and two separate installations on two separate WEEKS. I received TWO VISA cards even. But AT&T was sly and one card was $50 and the other was $250. NOT COOL. Check my files, you'll find I've talked to you many times about this! When I called to activate, I was even told then that one card was $300 and one was $250 and I thought being it was on a Friday, maybe it would be added in the next few days. Boy was I surprised when I was DECLINED when I didn't have $500!!! AT&T you better shape up, or I'm gonna ship off, because I came to you for the service and so far I've found only PAY for VIEW and marketing channels....out of 250 channels?? Not so hot.

    i also returned to direct tv was promised a card and haven't got it i was on hold and then talking to someone for a hour on Wednesday aug. 20th they said to call on friday . I Had surgery today so i'm online and i've got no help no where to go its awful being lied to. beegee54betsy
