Moving is easy with DIRECTV
How do I transfer my DIRECTV service?
Can I move my DIRECTV service to an apartment or condominium?
If you are a customer connected with satellite you will need to provide to the installer a completed Landlord Approval Form before we can proceed with the installation and activation of your TV service.
Customers connecting to TV with internet would need to verify that the new location has an available internet speed of at least 8Mbps for optimal viewing.
What if I am in a contract and I am unable to get service at my new residence?
What equipment should I take with me when I move?
You will take all your equipment, TV boxes, power cords and remote controls with you to your new address. If you currently connect to TV via satellite, leave your DIRECTV dish installed at your old address. When the technician arrives to set up your service at your new address, they will take and return any equipment you no longer need. For more detailed moving information go to DIRECTV Insider.
Do I keep my recorded DVR shows to watch once I move?
DIRECTV customers connected via internet will have access to all their recorded content at their new address and customers who connect with satellite will keep their recordings when they move with the same equipment.
