Your Reality Show Watch Party Snack of the Summer

The most anticipated edition of The Bachelorette is now airing ABC Mondays at 8 p.m with double the Bachelorettes and (hopefully) double the drama. All of us at home hosting weekly watch parties are aware that serving frozen pizza rolls, chips and salsa is so 2000.

The best watch party snacks for The Bachelorette are ones we can pair with wine and champagne while we drink alongside Gabby and Rachel. The ladies are getting to know the men by sitting down at romantic picnic dates. Which is why it’s important we toast to the single ladies as we watch along!

The Best Watch Party Snack: The Charcuterie Board

Charcuterie Showdown

What is a charcuterie? Charcuterie is the art of preparing and assembling cured meats and cheeses.  A typical charcuterie board consists mainly of meats, cheeses, and nuts but lately it’s common for these boards to have breads, crackers, olives, fruits, flowers, honey and mustard. The good news for us bachelorette fans who aren’t into cooking for guests, no stress. Between all the new hotties in the house there’s enough heat happening on the show that we don’t need to go near the stove to put together a fantastic charcuterie board.

How to make an impressive board? Start out with three different meats: prosciutto, good quality pepperoni and salami. Just like dating, first appearances matter the key is grouping all the meats together in an organized, neat pile. Keeping to the theme of romance we are carefully selecting each cheese that pairs best with three meats described. Gabby and Rachel are not the only ones searching for partners here; we are looking for our meat and cheese soulmate. Prosciutto has the best romantic connection with parmesan, asiago or blue cheese. Pepperoni pairs best with any cheese but to play it safe you can match either cheddar, goat or fontina. Salami could be paired with gouda, manchego and burrata to list a few.

Gabby and Rachel

Now that we have the meat and cheese partnered up on the board it’s time to fill in the spaces with fruit. Gabby and Rachel have so many options this year in the house that it feels limitless. When deciding on fresh fruit or dried fruits throw it all in and create the same limitless option. Raspberries, blueberries and grapes really make the board pop with color. Sprinkling in some dried mango, dried apricot and raisins make a delicious filler, it’s all about the options. For the final touch, fill in the remaining space with crackers, nuts, a small dish of olives and a small dish of mini cornichons. Since love is in the air shall I propose adding a few roses around the corners to complete this dream come true charcuterie board? There you have it! The perfect watch party snack to tune into the Bachelorette on Mondays on ABC!
