When is the ‘Watson’ TV Series Release Date?
Watson premiers on Sunday, January 26, after the AFC Championship Game. The first episode’s air time will depend on the game’s end time, but it should be around 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
Following the premiere, Watson will air regularly starting Sunday, February 16, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Why so long between the show’s premiere and the second episode? The GRAMMY Awards will air on CBS on Sunday, February 2, and CBS likely didn’t want to pit the second episode against the Super Bowl, which will air on Fox on Sunday, February 9.
What is The New ‘Watson’ TV Series About?
Six months after his friend and famed detective, Sherlock Holmes, is killed by his archenemy Moriarty, Dr. John Watson (Morris Chestnut) resumes his medical career by opening the Holmes Clinic in Pittsburgh. The clinic specializes in treating rare and unidentifiable medical conditions. Dr. Watson brings together a team of some of the most brilliant doctors, but as he says in the trailer, “Our patients don’t need doctors; our patients need detectives.” And as Watson turns from crimes to medical mysteries, it also appears that his past may not be completely behind him as evidence emerges that brings Watson to face Moriarty again.
Watson was created by TV producer and screenwriter Craig Sweeny, who was also the executive producer of the CBS crime drama Elementary.
Meet the Cast of ‘Watson’
In addition to Morris Chestnut in the leading role of Watson, you can expect to see a great cast of characters. Check out the Watson main cast list and character guide below:
- Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, the head of the Holmes Clinic and the former partner of Sherlock Holmes. He uses his past experience solving crimes to help his patients who are suffering from medical mysteries that no other doctors can solve.
- Eve Harlow as Dr. Ingrid Derian, a neurologist at the Holmes Clinic.
- Peter Mark Kendall as Dr. Stephens Croft and Dr. Adam Croft, twin brothers who work at the Holmes Clinic. Although identical twins, the two brothers couldn’t be more different. The workaholic and withdrawn Stephens was at the top of his class at Johns Hopkins Med and specializes in infectious diseases, whereas the charming and personable Adam is a former athlete and Boston University alum who serves as a functional medicine specialist at the clinic.
- Inga Schlingmann as Dr. Sasha Lubbock, a specialist in rheumatology and immunology.
