But just three weeks before her birthday, Jules Potter (Julia Roberts) gets a call from her best friend and sports reporter, Micheal O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney), who says he’s getting married to a beautiful 20-year-old named Kimberly (Cameron Diaz), whose father owns the Chicago White Sox. That’s when Jules realizes that she’s in love with Micheal. Now, she has to go to Chicago to be in her best friend’s wedding and tell him how she feels before it’s too late. 

‘Maid in Manhattan’ (2002)

Jennifer Lopez plays Marisa Ventura, a single mother who works as a maid at a fancy New York hotel. After trying on an expensive coat, a politician running for Senator (Ralph Fiennes) mistakes her for a wealthy guest. As Marisa and Chris begin to fall in love, she finds herself trapped in the lie. She knows the fairy tale can’t last forever as she tries to keep the truth about who she really is from coming out.  

‘Pretty In Pink’ (1986)

It doesn’t get much more iconic than the ‘80s cult romantic classic Pretty In Pink. Molly Ringwald plays a smart high school student named Andie Walsh who falls for a wealthy and popular student named Blane (Andrew McCarthy). However, both Blane’s rich friends and Andie’s best friend Duckie, who is secretly in love with her, tell them they disapprove of the relationship. She has to decide if she’s going to let what other people think impact her relationship or follow her heart. 

‘Roxanne’ (1987)

Who doesn’t love a modern take on a classic love story? Inspired by Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano De Bergerac, Steve Martin plays a fire chief named C.D. Bales, who falls in love with a beautiful astronomy student named Roxanne, played by Daryl Hannah. The only thing holding him back from confessing his love is his giant nose. But Roxanne has her eye on Chris, a handsome (but not very smart) fireman. C.D. writes her love letters and allows Chris to give them to Roxanne as his own. Will she be able to see that there’s more to C.D. than meets the eye when she finds out the truth?  

‘Dirty Dancing’ (1987) 

It’s the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old “Baby” (Jennifer Grey) is vacationing in the Catskills with her family. Against her father’s wishes, Baby begins to fall for the camp’s dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). She starts sneaking around the camp to spend time with Johnny. And when Johnny’s dance partner, Penny, faces a crisis, Baby steps up to learn the routine. 

‘The Fault In Our Stars’ (2014) 

Grab a box of tissues. The Fault In Our Stars is a heartbreaking love story about a teenage girl named Hazel (Shailene Woodley), who has terminal cancer and needs an oxygen tank to breathe. At a cancer support group, she meets an 18-year-old boy named Gus (Ansel Elgort), who lost one of his legs to bone cancer but is now in remission. The two find a shared love of books, and she has him read her favorite novel, An Imperial Affliction. Dissatisfied by the abrupt ending, he makes it his mission to track down the author in Amsterdam to get answers for Hazel. Together, the two learn the harsh realities of life, love and loss. 

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Trilogy

Based on the bestselling book trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey centers around a college student named Anastasia “Ana” Steele (Dakota Johnson), who falls for the wealthy and enigmatic Christian Grey (Jamie Dornon). When she interviews him for the school paper, he is instantly intrigued by her innocence. This begins their passionate and often tumultuous love story as he introduces her to the world of BDSM.
