‘Kung Fu Panda 4’

In this animated, comedy adventure, Jack Black reprises his role of Po in Kung Fu Panda 4. When the Dragon Warrior is chosen as the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, Po reluctantly has to find and train a new warrior. Meanwhile, danger is lurking in the form of a powerful sorceress named Chameleon (Viola Davis) who can shapeshift into any creature, big or small. She is after Po’s Staff of Wisdom, which would allow her to release all of the villains Po has defeated in the past. 

Po can’t protect the Valley of Peace alone, so he teams up with a fox bandit named Zhen (Awkwafina). The unlikely pair have to learn to work together to defeat Chameleon. The film brings back all the hilarious and action-packed adventure fans have come to love about the Kung Fu Panda franchise as Po learns that heroes can come from unexpected places. 

‘Unsung Hero’

Based on an inspirational true story, Unsung Hero portrays the life of David (played by his real-life son, Joel Smallbone) and Helen Smallbone (Daisy Betts) as they move their family from Australia to the United States in hopes of a brighter future after David’s music company fails. As they adjust to a new country with their seven children, the family must put their faith in God as they work to make ends meet. Along the way, they discover the musical talents of their children. 

Three of David and Helen’s kids would go on to become some of the biggest names in Christian music. Rebecca St. James is a GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter, and Joel and Luke Smallbone, are the iconic Christian pop duo, for King + Country. This film tells their remarkable story as they take their dreams of performing to center stage. 

‘The Strangers – Chapter 1’

If you are looking for a good scare, The Strangers – Chapter 1 is for you. Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez) are forced to spend the night in a secluded cabin on their fifth anniversary when their car breaks down in a remote town in Oregon. The couple’s romantic night quickly becomes a living nightmare when a stranger asking for Tamara knocks on the door. They begin to be terrorized by three masked strangers who seem to have no motive. 

The movie is based on the 2008 horror film of the same name and is the first of an upcoming trilogy. The Strangers – Chapter 1 will keep you in suspense with chilling twists and turns to the very end.

Summer Camp shows you’re never too old to learn something new. Over the decades, the trio drifted apart as life took them in different directions. The three friends jump at the chance to reunite at the summer camp’s 50-year reunion. 

Each of the friends is at an unexpected point in their life. Nora is a workaholic widow, Ginny gave up her dream of becoming a doctor for marriage and Mary is a self-help guru without time for her friends. At the summer camp, the three rediscover what’s truly important to them as they navigate old rivalries, food fights, river rafting adventures and new loves. 

‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire takes place three years after the events of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. They discover an ancient orb that has the power to command an army of ghosts. The new Ghostbusters and OG Ghostbusters, including Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Dr. Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) and Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts), have to join together to protect the world from a second ice age. 

‘Civil War’

Civil War is a political thriller movie that follows a team of war journalists traveling from New York City to Washington D.C. The president of the United States has claimed a third term and the nation is on the brink of a Civil War. War photographer Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst) saves a young photojournalist named Jessie Cullen (Cailee Spaeny) from a suicide bombing in New York. Lee and Joel (Wagner Moura), a journalist, decide to travel to the capital to interview the president before the city is destroyed. Convincing Joel to take her with them, Jessie joins the group. The trio must work together to stay alive while capturing what is happening to the crumbling nation. 

‘IF’

What if imaginary friends were real? IF centers around 12-year-old Bea (Cailey Fleming) whose mother has died and moves in with her grandmother while her father (John Krasinski) awaits heart surgery. She discovers that she can see other people’s imaginary friends or IFs. She meets Cal (Ryan Reynolds), her neighbor who can also see IFs, who has been working to place with new children. When a child grows up and forgets about their IFs, they need to be placed with a new child or risk disappearing. Bea teams up with Cal to help save the IFs.

The family-friendly film combines live-action and animation. It’s a heartwarming and fantastical film that will have you believing like a kid again.  

‘The Beekeeper’

The Beekeeper is an action thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The protagonist Adam Clay (Jason Statham) lives a quiet life, renting the barn of a retired school teacher named Eloise Parker (Phylicia Rashad). She commits suicide after falling victim to a phishing scam, losing all of her life savings and $2 million for a charity fund she manages. Adam decides to get justice for Eloise and it’s revealed he’s a highly-skilled former operative of an organization called the Beekeepers. Adam takes matters into his own hands to expose the corruption and take revenge on the scammers. 

‘The Fall Guy’

The Fall Guy is a summer blockbuster full of action, romance and comedy. Eighteen months later, he returns to set to be the double of movie star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) for Jody’s first directorial film. He finds out that Jody doesn’t want him there. But when Tom goes missing, Colt is tasked to go find him and save Jody’s film. 

Colt quickly finds that tracking down the missing movie star isn’t going to be easy. He has to navigate dangerous situations to uncover a conspiracy, all while trying to win back the love of his life. 

‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’

He executes her mother before selling Furiosa to Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme) as a breeder. 

Furiosa is able to escape and must continue to survive. Disguised as a mute teenage boy, she works her way up the ranks — eventually rising to the rank of Imperator, which she holds in Mad Max: Fury Road.
