ANAHEIM DUCKS HISTORY
The Anaheim Ducks were founded in 1993 and were originally named the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for the movie series “The Mighty Ducks.” When the Walt Disney Company sold the Ducks in 2005, the team shortened the name to the Anaheim Ducks to avoid copyright issues. Since the Anaheim expansion team was founded not too long ago, the team has still been working to get their skates underneath them.
The Ducks have qualified for the playoffs 14 times in the team’s 30 years, giving them about a 50-50 record. Unfortunately, the team has not managed to make it to the playoffs since 2018.
The Ducks play their home games at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
