How to get online with Genie HD DVR
To connect your HD DVR, you need the following:
- Wireless router or gateway connected to your home Internet service.
- An Internet connection speed of 2Mbps or higher.
- HD DVR Genie HR44, HR54, or HS17 model. To check your Genie model, press and hold INFO on your remote until the Info & Test screen appears on your TV. The receiver model number is next to Receiver.
Connect the Genie HD DVR to Wi-Fi manually
- Press MENU on your remote.
- Select Settings > Internet Setup > Connect Now. If you're reconnecting to the internet, select Reconnect Now.
- After the system checks the connection status, select Set Up Wireless.
- Select your wireless network.
- Enter your wireless network password and select Continue.
Once connected to your network, you’ll receive an Internet Setup Successful screen and can enjoy the benefits of being connected!
Connect the Genie HD DVR to internet with a cable
- Connect the ethernet cable to the back of the Genie and connect to the router or gateway connected to your home internet service.
- Press MENU on your remote.
- Select Settings > Internet Setup > Connect Now. If you're reconnecting to the internet, select Test Connection.
- After the system checks connection status, select Done.
